Why do some people celebrate Christmas in July?

In the southern hemisphere, the seasons are reversed in the northern hemisphere, meaning that December falls in daylight saving time. Some places stop in countries like Australia and South Africa Midwinter Christmas Events in July to make them feel like Christmas in the northern hemisphere. These countries still celebrate the actual Christmas on December 25th.

Alternatively, ironically, the northern hemisphere celebrates Christmas in July. The Hallmark Channel will be showing Christmas movies during this time, coinciding with the premiere of this year’s Keepsake Ornament collection, a marketing ploy that has literally helped reinforce the Hallmark Holiday phrase.
