Does listening to an audio book count as reading?
Yes, study after study shows that the same parts of your brain are used when you read a book and when you listen to an audio book. People with dyslexia, ADHD etc. also benefit greatly from this as they can understand books in a whole new sense with works for them! You no longer feel left out of the book scene and can have those amazing experiences and benefits that everyone else has from reading! It’s really just a life changing thing for them, it’s like they have the keys to a door that used to be locked! Not to mention the educational aspect. Even for people without these conditions, audiobooks can improve reading comprehension, speed, memory, and almost every other aspect of reading! Apart from that, everything depends on the person. If you think you get more out of reading a physical book, read a physical book! If you think you get more out of audiobooks, listen to audiobooks! But yes, the complete reading and audio book are definitely the same!
