There is no way to speak for all animals, but there is evidence that some animals have ways of being different from one another. Some parrots, for example, seem to identify with certain groups of people, and it’s possible their parents gave them those names. Sweet is not it?
And parrots aren’t the only animals we suspect give each other names. dolphins also have distinctive whistles that function similarly to names. To prove this, the researchers played different whistles to a group of dolphins, and the individuals only responded to their signature sound, as if calling back when their name was called.
